- 15 minutes of transcription
- Messages up to 5 minutes each
- No card needed, just your email
- Every feature except upload links
WhatScribe transcribes voice messages and videos inside WhatsApp Web. The transcript opens in the message bubble, and each word lights up as it is spoken. Drag across a chat to copy all of it as text, in order.
Launching soon on Chrome, Edge and Firefox. See the plans.
Drag across the chat background to select messages, then press Ctrl+C (⌘C on a Mac). Your clipboard gets them in order, with names, times and transcripts of voice messages and videos, ready for your notes, a ticket or an AI tool.
Pasted text
Paste it in and ask anything. It works wherever your agent runs.
An agent on your computer opens saved files from their paths. An agent in the cloud can't, so turn on Upload files for links and it gets a link instead.
Voice messages from your teacher or tandem partner, with every word lit up as it is spoken. Tap a word to hear it again, and catch what you would miss by ear.
Great work today! For Thursday, please review the present perfect and write five sentences about your weekend. See you then!
Set up once in about a minute. After that, it is one click per message.
Add WhatScribe to Chrome, Edge or Firefox on your computer and open WhatsApp Web.
Enter your email in the WhatScribe popup and type the 6-digit code we send you. No password, no card.
Every voice message and video gets a WhatScribe button. Click it and the transcript opens in the bubble. On videos, CC turns on live captions in the full-screen viewer. To copy several messages, drag across the chat background.

Prices include VAT. Payments are processed by Stripe, and Link (Stripe's checkout) is the seller of record (merchant of record), so your receipt comes from Link and your card statement shows LINK.COM*. Minutes are counted on the length of the audio you transcribe and reset on each billing date; unused minutes don't carry over. Copying messages only uses minutes for the voice messages and videos it transcribes. Free trials share a monthly budget: if it runs out, trials pause until the next month.
Nothing leaves your browser until you click WhatScribe on a message or transcribe a selection. Then that message's audio is sent to the WhatScribe API and on to ElevenLabs, which turns it into text. The WhatScribe API stores neither the audio nor the transcript.
The transcript is saved only in your browser, and you can clear it from the popup. There are no ads and no analytics. The privacy policy has the details.
By default they save to a whatscribe folder in your Downloads,
without passing through our servers. The copied text has each file's path. Files
can be up to 500 MB.
On Pro and Max, turn on Upload files for links in the popup, and the text has links instead, handy for an AI tool that can't read your computer. Files up to 250 MB go to WhatScribe's servers and are deleted after 7 days. Anyone with a link can open it, so treat it like the file itself. If an upload can't go through, the file saves to your Downloads instead.
More than 90, including English, Spanish, Portuguese, German, French, Italian, Arabic, Hindi and Swedish. You don't pick a language; it is detected for each message.
Chrome, Edge and Firefox on a computer, with WhatsApp Web open in a tab. It does not run inside the WhatsApp phone or desktop apps.
Your plan belongs to your email, so it works in every browser where you sign in, for example your laptop and your work computer.
WhatScribe reads messages through WA-JS, an open-source library that follows WhatsApp Web's internals. When WhatsApp ships a big change, WhatScribe can stop working for a day or two until WA-JS and WhatScribe are updated. Your transcripts saved in the browser stay where they are.
WhatScribe tells you in the message bubble, and transcripts you already have keep working. Pro and Max minutes come back on each billing date. A message is only started if you have enough minutes left for its full length. When you copy messages, the text and files still arrive, and a note marks anything that couldn't be transcribed.
Open the WhatScribe popup, enter your email and type the 6-digit code we send you. There is no password. If you subscribed on this page, use the same email you paid with.
Open the WhatScribe popup and choose Manage subscription, or go to link.com. Your plan keeps working until the end of the period you have paid for. Refunds follow Link's and Stripe's policies.
Yes. Select messages, copy, and paste the text into the AI tool or agent you use. WhatScribe doesn't connect to it or send it anything. What you paste then follows that tool's own privacy terms, so you can hide names first in the popup. Hiding is best effort: it masks senders' names, phone numbers and emails, but not a name in a photo or someone only mentioned in passing.
No. WhatScribe runs in the WhatsApp Web tab you are already signed in to. It only reads the messages you click or select, and never sends messages for you.
No. WhatScribe is an independent extension. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by WhatsApp or Meta.
